Burlesque was quite a dramatic film to make!
In The Hollywood Reporter this week is a backstage account of some of the more emotional scenes from the filming of Burlesque, but it turns out most of them happened behind the lens.
While most would be apt to believe the problems would be caused by two massive divas butting heads, Christina Aguilera and Cher had little to do with the tension on set. The feud was actually between the two men running the show: Clint Culpepper, president of Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems unit, and director Steven Antin.
Seems that the two men had a romantic history that trickled its way into the Burlesque shoots. Things had to have ended badly as the fights got so intense, Tina reportedly burst in tears during one of their confrontations. Her manager, Irving As, in turn when to Clint Culpepper and slammed him for upsetting his star, saying, “Dude, she came from an abused childhood. You can’t yell like this.”
Poor Xtina! How very unprofessional of these two men bringing their personal problems onto set! We're suprised this story did end with, "And then Cher quit!"
